  • Application of Problem-based Learning Teaching Method in General Medical College Students

    ObjectiveTo explore the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) during the internship process for undergraduates in general medical colleges and universities. MethodsFrom September 2011 to September 2012, PBL mode teaching was carried for the five-year undergraduates, in which students were encouraged to explore, innovate, and put forward questions by themselves, and teachers were responsible for guiding. Based on entrance theoretical examination results and the comprehensive evaluation results, the grade 2008 undergraduate interns who received "3+2" two-phase teaching were divided into experimental group and control group with 50 students in each. Students in the experimental group were given the PBL teaching method, while the control group continued to receive traditional teaching mode. Finally, we adopted questionnaire survey, theory exam, and skill evaluation to compare the two groups of students. ResultsFor the questionnaire survey, students in the experimental group got significantly higher marks in such items as "mutual assessment between teachers and students" and "skill operation knowledge mastery" than the control group (P<0.05), but in items like "medical ethics" and "social cultivation", the differences were not significant (P>0.05). For the theory exam results, the average score for students in the experimental group (84.98±9.78) was not significantly different from that in the control group (81.86±10.04) (P>0.05). For the skill operation, the average score for the experimental group was 8.87±0.89, which was significantly higher than that for the control group (6.80±1.46) (P<0.05). ConclusionPBL mode is worth popularizing for its function of improving students' practical operation ability and thinking ability. However, the improvement of theoretical knowledge learning needs to be further solved.

  • Artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma: medical students’ perceptions, attitudes, and educational needs

    Objective To evaluate medical students’ perceptions and attitudes toward artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and to analyze their educational needs regarding AI in pathological diagnosis. Methods A questionnaire survey (including closed and open-ended questions) was conducted to assess medical students’ perceptions, attitudes, and educational needs concerning AI-assisted RCC diagnosis. Participants included medical students from different specialties and standardized training residents. The questionnaire covered demographic information, perceptions and attitudes toward AI, and AI-related educational needs. Results A total of 249 respondents completed the survey. The majority were standardized training residents, mostly aged 23-26 years, and 40.96% had practical experience in pathological diagnosis of RCC. The median scores for most closed-ended questions were 4. Respondents generally considered “efficiency” and “improved accuracy” as the most prominent advantages of AI, with timeliness, automated diagnosis, reduction of human error, and precise diagnosis being the most emphasized aspects. Analysis of AI-related educational needs revealed high-frequency keywords such as “expanding sample size” “balanced responsibility allocation” and “enhancing collaboration skills.” Conclusion Medical students hold a positive attitude toward AI and its application in RCC diagnosis, but there remains a lack of formal AI-related education.

  • Comparison of the Job Application Results between Different Academic Background of Nursing Graduated Students

    目的 比较不同学历护理专业大学毕业生面试成绩的差异,为临床教学和学生就业提供参考。 方法 2012年4月对43名参加面试的护理专业毕业大学生进行笔试与操作考试,采用SPSS 16.0软件比较大专生及本科生面试成绩的差异,并分析学历与面试成绩的相关性。 结果 本科生笔试成绩在71~100分数段的比例高于大专生(χ2=5.324,P=0.031)。本科生笔试成绩高于大专生(t=3.097,P=0.004),且在专业实践题型上的失分低于大专毕业生(t=−2.471,P=0.018)。多重线性逐步回归分析中,笔试成绩的影响因素有学历(β=−8.990,P=0.005)、是否获得奖学金(β=9.990,P=0.002);面试成绩总分的影响因素为学历(β=−12.676,P=0.015)。 结论 应加快护理教育改革与发展,注重能力培养,促进学生就业。

  • 慢性乙型肝炎患者健康教育需求调查分析

    目的:为了解慢性乙型肝炎患者对乙肝相关知识的了解程度,对健康教育内容和方式的需求,为临床实施健康教育提供依据。方法:采用问卷调查方式,问卷为自行设计,经反复修改,并行预调查,证明可行。发出调查问卷141份,收回113份,回收率80.1%.由专职护士在统一指导语下先对患者作必要的解释,然后由患者独立完成问卷;将资料量化后输入计算机,数据用统计软件SPSS11.0处理,问卷总分用x-±s进行t检验。结果:从113例慢性乙肝患者问卷平均得分为(11.54±2.65),基本达到及格要求,反映出患者有一定的健康信息储量,但缺乏较深层次的健康知识指导;慢性乙肝患者对乙肝相关知识的了解情况与文化程度及病程长短相关;对能解决实际问题的教育内容需求较多,最受欢迎的健康教育方式为发放健康手册,一病一卡(建立患者档案,医护定时上门)。结论:慢性乙肝患者有一定的健康信息储量,但不全面;患者对健康教育有较强的需求愿望;患者受着不同程度的心理压力,且知行未完全合一;因此, 对慢性乙型肝炎患者的健康教育需加强知识的深度和广度,重视教育内容和方式的有机结合,还要加强对慢性乙肝患者的心理疏导,情感支持,也是至关重要的。

  • Effects of Health Education Pathway Intervention on Self-care Agency and Health Lifestyle Promotion in Colostomy Patients

    ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of health education pathway intervention on self-care agency and health lifestyle promotion in colostomy patients. MethodsEighty-eight rectal cancer patients who had undergone colostomy were randomly divided into control group and intervention group (with 44 patients in each) between March 2012 and September 2013. The control group received conventional nursing only, while the intervention group were given health education pathway intervention besides conventional nursing. The self-care agency and health lifestyle promotion in the two groups under pre-colostomy state, one week after colostomy and two weeks after colostomy were surveyed and compared based on the exercise of self-care agency scale and the health promotion lifestyle profile. ResultsAfter health education pathway intervention, the scores of self-care agency and health lifestyle promotion in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the hospitalization expenditure was also obviously lower. Furthermore, the satisfaction degree on nursing service was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). ConclusionThe health education pathway intervention can greatly improve self-care agency and quality of life in rectal cancer patients who have undergone colostomy.

  • Application of Knowledge attitude behavior and practice health education path table in health education of physician-nurse collaboration for children with epilepsy

    ObjectiveTo develop Knowledge attitude behavior and practice (KABP) health education path table, and to explore its application in health education of physician-nurse collaboration for children with epilepsy, and provide practical reference for health education of children with epilepsy.MethodsA convenient sampling method was used to select 94 family units of children with epilepsy and their main caregivers from the Department of Neurology in Hunan Children’s Hospital from September 2018 to March 2019. Divided into observation group and control group, 47 cases in each group. In the control group, the health care education was carried out by the conventional method of medical personnel’s one-way input of knowledge. The observation group conducted health education through interactive participation in the path of the health education path of KABP on the basis of regular health education. Then compared the effect of the health education between the two groups.ResultsAfter the intervention, the quality of life scores of the observation group were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01). The relevant knowledge scores of main caregivers at 1 and 3 months after discharge were significant higher than those in the control group (P=0.008, P=0.001). The medication compliance scores of children with epilepsy at 1 and 3 months after discharge were significant higher than those in the control group (P=0.010, P=0.006).ConclusionsThe KABP health education pathway can improve the knowledge level of caregivers, as well as the medication compliance and quality of life of children with epilepsy.

  • The influence of disaster preparedness education on college students’ awareness, actions and abilities of disaster prevention and preparedness

    ObjectiveTo analyze the impact of disaster prevention and preparedness education courses on college students’ awareness, actions and abilities of disaster prevention and preparedness, so as to provide a reference for the establishment and optimization of disaster education-related courses in colleges.MethodsStudents who took the optional course “Disaster Preparedness Education” of Sichuan University in the fall semester of 2019 to 2020 were included. Questionnaires were issued before and after the course to compare the differences in awareness, actions and abilities of disaster prevention and preparedness of college students before and after the course. We also analyzed the differences between college students of different genders and college students of different grades.ResultsFinally, 148 college students were included. After the course, college students’ awareness scores (9.24±0.61 vs. 6.11±0.52), action scores (6.89±0.70 vs. 2.65±0.58) and ability scores (33.73±1.61 vs. 18.55±1.88) of disaster prevention and preparedness were improved compared to those before the course, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before the course, boys’ disaster prevention and preparedness awareness score was higher than that of girls (6.48±0.56 vs. 5.23±0.44), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in the scores of actions or abilities of disaster prevention and preparedness between boys and girls (P>0.05). After the course, there was no statistically significant difference in any of the scores between boys and girls (P>0.05). Before and after the course, there was no statistically significant difference in any of the scores between the senior college students and the lower college students (P>0.05). College students’ overall satisfaction with disaster preparedness education was relatively high, with the highest scores for teaching methods and assessment methods.ConclusionDisaster preparedness education courses have a positive effect on improving the comprehensive qualities of college students’ disaster preparedness awareness, actions, and abilities, but it is necessary to attract more college students to participate and increase the scope of the course.

  • West China–Tibet Telemedical Education

    It has always been an important policy of the Chinese government to provide aid and assistance for the development of Tibet. With nearly one-eighth of China’s total land areas and about 0.002% of China’s total population, the Tibet Autonomous Region lags behind the domestic average level in medical education and is in bad need for medical professionals. The West China Center of Medical Sciences (WCCMS) of Sichuan University has managed to introduce US projects to set up the West China–Tibet Telemedical Education System to transmit medical courses in a real-time and interactive way. Based on this system, WCCMS has established a model for assisting the Tibet University Medical College through transmitting medical courses, training their medical faculty, sending WCCMS faculty to work in Tibet and admitting medical teachers and students from Tibet to study and be trained at West China Medical School and Hospital.

  • 儿童保健门诊对儿童家长健康教育的效果

    【摘要】目的观察儿童保健门诊对儿童家长健康教育的效果。方法对儿童保健门诊儿童家长有针对性地实施健康教育,抽取在2009年16月来本院儿保门诊体检的6个月~2岁健康儿童1245人。其中,体检次数6次以上者612人,3~5次者422人,2次以内者211人。对年龄、初复诊、病种、预后、知识层次、就医习惯、对健康知识的需求和知晓程度等进行分流和分层采用不同的教育方法。针对患者所患疾病对其家长进行口头宣教和指导,并利用科普教育,赠送宣传小册子、图片或看科普电视的方式进行宣教。结果对儿童保健门诊儿童及家属实施健康教育可提高患者对护士的满意度,对医院的信任度,促进患者康复。结论在门诊患者及其家属中开展健康教育,进行人性化的高水平护理,可以提高疾病的治愈率,提高患者对医院的满意度和信任度。
