Objective To review the development and quality control of modern tissue banks. Methods The rules, regulations and the management literatures about tissue banks were extensivelyand comprehensively reviewed. Results Tissue banks havea significant progress and are developing to concentration, industrialization and standardization gradually. Quality control is being paid more attention in modern tissue banks. Conclusion Modern tissue banks will have a good future and the quality control must be intensified.
Based on the charming quality theories and characteristics of hospital outpatient services in China, this paper defined and analyzed the quality of hospital services, and then made several corresponding recommendations for improving charming quality of outpatient services. The aim is to explore an effective way to tap the potential needs of the patients and to retain some loyal patients, under the impact of the hospital competitiveness.
Objective To explore the effect of applying evidence-based medicine theory to quality management in long-term-system clinical medicine teaching. Methods We introduced the concept of evidence-based quality management system of clinical medicine to the delivery of teaching with Internet-based teaching quality real time supervision system as the core. A special quality scale was used to assess the teaching quality of teachers and the results were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 using u test. Results The system stored 853 280 pieces of data from the years 2001 to 2003. Up to 96.4% (275/285) of the evaluated topics scored over 85 points. Whether the teachers had overseas experience or not and whether their ages were over 45 or not had no significant influence on the teaching quality (P ＞0.05), but their degrees had influence on the teaching quality (P ＜0.05). Conclusion In long-term-system clinical medicine teaching quality management, we should apply the concept and approach of EBM to our practice so that we can ensure that the teaching quality of long-term-system clinical medicine will improve steadily.
Medical records play an important role in medical treatment, prevention, teaching, scientific research and hospital management. The epidemic situation of coronavirus disease 2019 is very serious. How to complete the writing of medical records with high quality and high efficiency under the high-intensity, high-pressure environment of the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 is an important issue for medical quality control management departments. West China Hospital of Sichuan University has adopted various measures to continuously improve the quality management of medical records, including optimizing the medical records of fever clinics and isolation wards, and using various methods of medical record quality management under the support of electronic medical record information systems, so as to improve the writing quality and efficiency of medical records during the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus disease 2019.
ObjectiveTo study the effects of PDCA cycle in the control of surgical site infection (SSI). MethodsA total of 1 761 surgeries between January 2012 and December 2013 were chosen to be monitored. PDCA cycle was used as a tool of total quality management evaluation to enhance the control of SSI. ResultsAfter 2 to 4 cycles of PDCA, the preventive medication rate of ClassⅠ operation incision was decreased significantly (χ2=309.513，P<0.001) and the postoperative incision infection rate did not change significantly (χ2=1.474，P=0.669). ConclusionUsing PDCA cycle can increase SSI management level and quality significantly and total quality management can be operated effectively.
ObjectiveTo summarize the method of quality management in long term video electroencephalogram (VEEG) monitoring process.MethodsTo summarize the VEEG monitoring process in 4 935 patients, the following methods were adopted: adequate preparation before examination, selection of suitable electrode wearing methods, regular inspection of the quality of the lead wire, inspection and observation of whether the electrodes have fallen off, process inspection, behavioral intervention guidance, timely manage the artifacts, pay more attention to the inducted experimental, timely identification of paroxysmal events, standardize the procedures for the management of seizures, standardize the processing of electrode cleaning and disinfection, continuously improve the quality.ResultsFour hundred and tworoy are paroxysmal events of various types occurred during the monitoring period. All of them were handled in time and the patients were all safe. Among these events, 4 children ended the examination in ahead of the normal procedure due to fever, crying or other reasons. two patients were transferred to intensive care unit due to changes in patients ’conditions such as hypopnea and decreased oxygen saturation of artery blood of finger. The remaining 4 829 patients completed VEEG detection for 8 ~ 24 h. and got good quality images.ConclusionsQuality management is a guarantee of qualified, high quality, low artifact EEG reports.
